Shampoo Bar - Syndet Base

Shampoo Bar - Syndet Base allows you to make packaging free pH balanced shampoo bars quickly and easily.  Simply melt, add fragrance and additional ingredients if you wish and pour into moulds ready for use the next day. (Wait an extra day for added hardness)

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Propylene Glycol, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Glycerine, 
Glycerol Stearate, Aqua

pH: 5-6.5

Instructions

Remove the block of shampoo base  from the packaging and cut into smaller pieces to help it melt more quickly. Place the cut product into a container suited to your heating method. (Please note this base is soft as supplied but will harden once processed).

Melt the product in a microwave or on a stove top, stirring regularly to ensure the base melts evenly. Heat to around 80ºC to ensure the base is fully molten.

Please note – When molten the base may be clear but will go back to white upon setting.

 Once the base is molten, additives such as fragrance, colour and any additional hair care agents can be added to customise the base. Simply add the chosen additives to the molten product and mix to ensure even distribution. It is recommended that the level of additives included is up to 3 % maximum. This level would include up to 2 % fragrance. Stability testing may be required to ensure compatibility.

Pour the molten product into a mould or suitable container between 70 - 85 °C. 
Allow to set in a cool place for 24 hours before unmoulding

Once unmoulded, the base will continue to harden for around 24 hours.  Once hard, package as required. If the finished product is to be sliced, we recommend using a wire cutter.

Please note – due to the glycerine present in the base, this base can be prone to sweating so wrapping or airtight containers are recommended to keep your product pristine.
