To Thin the Base

Add 3–10% distilled water, mixing gently to combine.
Start low and increase only if needed.
This creates a smoother flow while maintaining cleansing ability and foam.

How Fragrances and Essential Oils Affect Thickness

Viscosity can change depending on the scent you add:

• Some oils thicken the base (vanilla, spice, some florals)
• .Others thin it dramatically (many citrus oils, mint, and light top-note blends).

This is normal and depends on the chemistry of the scent.

If Your Base Becomes Too Thick

• Add small amounts of distilled water (3–5% at a time)
• Mix slowly
• Allow the product to settle for 24 hours to reach its final viscosity

• Prepare a salt solution:
  1 tsp table salt dissolved into 100mL warm distilled water
• Add 1–2mL at a time
• Stir gently and allow it to develop for several hours
  Salt helps restore thickness without affecting performance.

Fragrance Usage

For best results, use 0.5–1% fragrance or essential oil.
Allow 12–24 hours for the shampoo to stabilise before assessing thickness.
